Home of Jane Thigpen 402 Pulaski St 31032 This building was once the home of Jane Thigpen (1823-1914). She was a well-known 19th century poet who wrote under the name Jessie Linn. The Old Jones County Courthouse The old Jones County Courthouse, photographed by Telamon Cuyler in 1913. This structure, which was built circa 1816, served as the county courthouse until 1905. Lowther Hall This circa 1930 photo- graph is of Lowther Hall, built by Samuel Lowther in 1822. Daniel Pratt is thought to have been the architect. The house, which was later owned by members of the Hardeman, Pursley, and Jones families, burned in 1945 or ‘46.
